I'm thinking of buying a smartphone with Android OS, v2.1 (Eclair) and I'm wondering whether that's a bad idea. I wanna buy this one because it's cheaper than gingerbread or icecream sandwich. Different Android versions have different features and specs. The latest the Android O.S, you get latest features and better performance and stability.

Advanced version is always better. And you should be at least on 2.2 to be trouble free from internal memory shortage issues. 2.2 onwards you can move apps to SD card which help survive with limited internal memory.
