im new to this and dont exactly get trending. especially when 'android market' has catergories in their games section, 'most popular' and 'latest trends' i thought this was the same thingWhat exactly is trending?

Most popular is of all time. Trending is like becoming popular.
A game like angry birds might be considered most popular because it's been around for several years and seemingly everyone has downloaded. A new games comes out and people are starting to download it frequently so it's trending.
Or look at this way - Angry Birds might have 400 Million downloads in 2 years, but only 200 hundred downloads in the last week.
New game has 5 Million downloads (only been around for a few months) but it has 500 thousand downloads in the last week - so it's trending.
